Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Interface effects on the shot noise in normal metal- d-wave superconductor Junctions

open access: yes, 1999
The current fluctuation in normal metal / d-wave superconductor junctions are studied for various orientation of the crystal by taking account of the spatial variation of the pair potentials.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Analysis of the EEG Rhythms Based on the Empirical Mode Decomposition During Motor Imagery When Using a Lower-Limb Exoskeleton. A Case Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics, 2020
The use of brain-machine interfaces in combination with robotic exoskeletons is usually based on the analysis of the changes in power that some brain rhythms experience during a motion event.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Carrier transport coefficients across GaAs-GaAIAs (100) interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
We present calculations of reflection and transmission coefficients for electrons and holes at (100) interfaces for the GaAs–Ga_(1–x)Al_xAs system. We consider semi‐infinite crystals of the two semiconductors joined at an abrupt or compositionally graded

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

On The Role Of The Interface Charge In Non-Ideal Metal-Semiconductor Contacts

open access: yes, 2004
The bias dependent interface charge is considered as the origin of the observed non-ideality in current-voltage and capacitance-voltage characteristics.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
