Interferon beta-1b treatment does not induce autoantibodies
Background: There is little information regarding the potential of interferon beta ( IFN beta) to induce or exacerbate autoimmune disease. Existing data from uncontrolled studies are contradictory and do not differentiate between autoimmune dysfunction ...

The producer cell type of HSV-1 alters the proteomic contents and infectious capacity of virions
The cell that a virus replicates in, that is, the producer cell, can alter the macromolecular composition and infectious capacity of the virions that are produced.

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Treatment options in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer after BCG failure
Bladder cancer is the ninth-most prevalent cancer worldwide. Most patients with urothelial cell carcinoma of the bladder present with non-muscle-invasive disease and are treated with bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) intravesical therapy.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.
