Some Serum Activity Markers of Airways Inflammation in Difficult-To-Control Asthma Patients

open access: yesActa Medica, 1997
The main aim of the present study was a search for a characteristic serum marker of inflammatory activity in the airways of asthmatics with difficult-to-control disease.

Importance of the loop connecting A and B helices of human interferon-gamma in recognition by interferon-gamma receptor.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1994
Characterization of murine-human hybrid interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) molecules suggests that substitution of the peptide connecting the A and B helices in human IFN-gamma with the murine sequence significantly blocks the protein's binding to the human interferon-gamma receptor.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell‐Mediated Intercellular Communication: Mapping the Interactome for Skeletal Muscle Homeostasis and Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liu et al. define a systems‐level interactome of fibroadipogenic progenitor (FAP)‐mediated signaling in skeletal muscle by integrating single‐cell transcriptomics with FAP depletion‐based perturbation analysis. Functional interrogation using a conditioned media bioassay links predicted signaling to multicellular outcomes, establishing a framework to ...

Propofol Suppresses Proinflammatory Cytokine Production by Increasing ABCA1 Expression via Mediation by the Long Noncoding RNA LOC286367

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2018
We previously reported that propofol upregulated the expression of ATP-binding cassette transporter subfamily A member 1 (ABCA1) via peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma/liver X receptor in macrophage-derived foam cells.

Multifocal Recurrent Osteomyelitis and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis in a Boy with Partial Dominant IFN-γR1 Deficiency: Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2017
Mutations in the genes coding for cytokines, receptors, second messengers, and transcription factors of interferon gamma (IFN-γ) immunity cause Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease (MSMD). We report the case of a 7-year-old male patient with

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

A 3D Human Bone and Bone Marrow‐on‐a‐Chip Model for In Vitro Bone Remodeling and Immune Cell Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a human Bone (and Bone Marrow)‐on‐a‐Chip model based on native human bone scaffolds and autologous cells. Dynamic perfusion and sequential cell seeding replicate the physiological bone remodeling process in vitro, enabling the long‐term culture of functional, mature bone marrow immune subpopulations.

Functional and Phenotypic Changes of Natural Killer Cells in Whole Blood during Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection and Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Tuberculosis (TB) is still a global health concern, especially in resource-poor countries such as The Gambia. Defining protective immunity to TB is challenging: its pathogenesis is complex and involves several cellular components of the immune system ...

Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease masquerading as lymphoproliferative disorder

open access: yesJournal of Applied Hematology, 2020
Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial diseases (MSMDs) is a rare disorder where histiocytes lack the interferon-gamma receptor and are not activated by the cytokine secreted by T-lymphocyte.

Modulation of human interferon-alpha receptor expression by human interferon-gamma.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1984
The human neuroblastoma cell line T98G is sensitive to the antiproliferative activity of both alpha- and gamma-interferons (IFNs). Specific binding of a homogeneous 125I-IFN-alpha 2 probe to high-affinity membrane receptors (apparent Kd = 6.2 X 10(-10) M) can be decreased by pretreatment of these cells with human IFN-gamma (HuIFN-gamma, derived by ...
