The Study of the Dynamics and the Level of Accumulation of Interferon in the Serum of Laboratory Animals

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
Studies have shown that high-molecular inducers of interferon Larigan®, Ridostin®, and Rifastin cause «early» interferon production which amounts to maximum 3 hours after injection.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Cycloferon as a Means for Prevention, Treatment, and Control of COVID-19: Multidisciplinary and Comparative Historical Aspects

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2022
The study of coronaviruses, including those capable of causing life-threatening diseases, continued for many decades. So did the study of interferons, as well as acridine acetic acid, which is a powerful interferon inducer.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A new concept in prophylaxis and therapy: paramunization by poxvirus inducers

open access: yesPesquisa Veterinária Brasileira, 1999
The so-called primitive, innate or paraspecific immune system is the phylogenetically older part of the complex immune system. It enables the organism to immediately attack various foreign substances, infectious pathogens, toxins and transformed cells of

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

ACTIVATION OF SYNTHESIS OF ENDOGENOUS INTERFERON (REVIEW)

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
The review is dedicated to the description of interferon inducers - new generation drugs created by Russian scientists as a result of the screening of thousands of high- and low-molecular synthetic and natural compounds.
