Factors Associated With In Vitro Interferon-gamma Production in Tuberculosis

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2011
Macrophage activation assisted by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) is a primary mechanism by which Mycobacterium tuberculosis is killed, but IFN-γ (production is inhibited in tuberculosis (TB) patients. The production of IFN-γ is influenced by many factors, such

IL-10/β-Endorphin-Mediated Neuroimmune Modulation on Microglia during Antinociception

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2023
Microglia are glial cells centrally related to pathophysiology and neuroimmunological regulation of pain through microglia–neuron crosstalk mechanisms. In contrast, anti-inflammatory mechanisms guided by immunological effectors such as IL-10 trigger the ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Interleukin-10 in Human Milk [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Research, 1995
The concentrations of immunoreactive IL-10 in the aqueous fraction of 20 specimens of human milk obtained during the first 80 h of lactation and stored at -60 degrees C ranged from 66 to 9301 pg/mL (mean +/- SD, 3304 +/- 3127 pg/mL). IL-10 was present also in the lipid layer of milk.
