Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Interleukin-12/23 Inhibitors: Ustekinumab
Inhibitors of interleukin-12/23 (IL-12/23) are compounds which bind to both IL-12 and IL-23 and inactivate them.

Background Vitamin D plays an important role in inflammatory responses after antigen exposure. Interleukin-23 (Il-23) promotes Il-17-dependent inflammation during Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) pulmonary infection. We aimed to compare the ability

Interleukin-23 and Th17 Cells in the Control of Gut Inflammation [PDF]
Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, the major forms of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) in humans, have been traditionally associated with exaggerated and poorly controlled T helper (Th) type 1 or Th2 cell response, respectively. More recent studies have, however, shown that IBDs are also characterized by a sustained production of cytokines made ...

Interleukin 23 receptor: Expression and regulation in immune cells
Abstract The importance of IL‐23 and its specific receptor, IL‐23R, in the pathogenesis of several chronic inflammatory diseases has been established, but the underlying pathological mechanisms are not fully understood. This review focuses on IL‐23R expression and regulation in immune cells.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Current perspective on the role of the interleukin-23/interleukin-17 axis in inflammation and disease (chronic arthritis and psoriasis) [PDF]
TH17 is a lymphocyte subset, which is characterized by its polarization to secrete interleukin (IL)-17. IL-23 is the pivotal mediator responsible for TH17 differentiation and the IL-23/IL-17 axis has been strongly implicated in the pathogenesis of ...

Interleukin-23: A key cytokine in inflammatory diseases
Interleukin-23 (IL-23) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine composed of two subunits, p19 and p40. The p40 subunit is shared with IL-12. IL-23 and IL-12 have different receptors and different effects. Whereas IL-12 induces development of Th1 cells, which produce interferon-γ, IL-23 is involved in differentiation of Th17 cells in a pro-inflammatory context ...
