‘Guide and Prejudice’— How Argonautes recognize targets across domains of life
Argonaute proteins use short nucleic‐acid guides to locate and regulate specific targets across all domains of life. Despite striking diversity—from human gene silencing to bacterial immune defence—all Argonautes share a conserved three‐stage recognition logic: guide‐directed sampling, progressive target pairing with a conformational checkpoint and ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Oncolytic Effects of a Novel Influenza A Virus Expressing Interleukin-15 from the NS Reading Frame [PDF]
Oncolytic influenza A viruses with deleted NS1 gene (delNS1) replicate selectively in tumour cells with defective interferon response and/or activated Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signalling pathway.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Cadmium is a toxic heavy metal known to induce oxidative stress, DNA damage, and inflammation, particularly in kidney tissue, as shown by elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and apoptotic markers like Caspase-3.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether genetic susceptibility to chronic peri-odontitis, conferred by the presence of the IL-6 -572GG genotype or the IL-10 -592A allele, influences the outcomes following a non-surgical periodontal ...

In vitro generation of interleukin-10-producing regulatory CD4(+) T cells is induced by immunosuppressive drugs and inhibited by T helper 1 (Th1)- and Th2-inducing cytokines [PDF]
We show that a combination of the immunosuppressive drugs, vitamin D3 and Dexamethasone, induced human and mouse naive CD4(+) T cells to differentiate in vitro into regulatory T cells.
