[Interleukin-5].

Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 1994
Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is a glycoprotein with molecular weight 40 to 50 kDa that consists of homodimer. The murine cDNA encodes 133 amino acids with a signal sequence of 18 amino acids. The human cD NA codes for a protein with 134 amino acids in which the first 19 are the predicted signal sequence.

Mitogenic effects of interleukin-5 on microglia

Neuroscience Letters, 1995
Interleukin-3 (IL-3), interleukin-5 (IL-5), and granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) are cytokines that bind to receptor complexes comprised of unique alpha-receptor subunits specific for each ligand and a commonly shared beta-receptor subunit.

Interleukin 5 and B cell differentiation

Cytokine & Growth Factor Reviews, 1998
Interleukin-5 (IL-5) stimulates proliferation and differentiation of B cells and eosinophils. IL-5 receptor (IL-5R) comprises alpha and (beta)c chains. IL-5 specifically binds to IL-5Ralpha and induces the recruitment of (beta)c to IL-5Ralpha. JAK2 and JAK1 tyrosine kinases are constitutively associated with hIL-5Ralpha and (beta)c, respectively and ...

The Interleukin-5 Receptor

1995
Abstract The nucleotide sequence of the human IL-5Ra cDNA (GenBank accession numbers M75914, M96651, M96652, X61176, X61177, X61178, and X62156) predicts a polypeptide of 420 amino acids (Fig. 1) (Tavernier et al. 1991, 1992; Murata et al. 1992).
