Interleukin 4

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part B. Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 1990
Since its discovery in 1982, numerous biological activities of interleukin-4 (IL-4) have been described. Like other cytokines, IL-4 is highly pleiotropic, both with respect to the number of different target cells that are responsive to it and with respect to the number of different biological responses it elicits.

Interleukin‐4 and listeriosis

Immunological Reviews, 1997
Summary: Experimental infection of mice with Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) has served as an appropriate model for analyzing Thl nil driven immune responses. Generally, Th2 responses are absent and IL‐4 is not detectable. Here, we describe experimental settings under which IL‐4 is detectable in listeriosis.

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) Pathway

Science's STKE, 2005
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a cytokine produced by T H 2 type helper T cells and by mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils. This cytokine can elicit many responses, some of which are associated with allergy and asthma. Studies with long-term cell lines and primary cells have revealed differences in the signaling between

Rat interleukin-4 assays

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1998
The present article describes procedures to measure rat IL-4 protein. The RT-PCR technique has been successfully and widely used to measure IL-4 mRNA, but it does not determine IL-4 protein synthesis. Assays to measure rat IL-4 protein based on its biological activity were developed using the mAb OX-81, which inhibits rat IL-4 activity.

Interleukin 4, interleukin 4 receptor‐α and interleukin 10 gene polymorphisms in Chagas disease

Parasite Immunology, 2011
SummaryIn this study, we investigated the association between single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the interleukin‐4 (IL4), interleukin‐4 receptor‐α (IL4RA) and interleukin‐10 (IL10) genes with the development of chagasic heart disease. This study included 260 patients from Colombia who were serologically positive for Trypanosoma cruzi antigens ...
