The Effect of Residual Swelling after Drying on Internal Bond in OSB

open access: yesDrvna Industrija, 2012
The study determined the effect of non-recoverable thickness swelling (NTS) on internal bond in oriented strand boards (OSB). The tests were conducted taking into consideration different time variants, ranging from 1 to 70 h, of soaking in water at 20ºC.

Long-Range C–H Bond Activation by Rh^(III)-Carboxylates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Traditional C–H bond activation by a concerted metalation–deprotonation (CMD) mechanism involves precoordination of the C–H bond followed by deprotonation from an internal base. Reported herein is a “through-arene” activation of an uncoordinated benzylic

Particle size and lime addiction on properties of wood-cement composites produced by the method of densification by vibro compaction

open access: yesCiência Rural
: This paper aimed to evaluate the effects of particle size and the use of lime as a pretreatment of Pinus spp wood particles on the production of wood-cement composites by vibro-compaction densification.

Observation of pendular butterfly Rydberg molecules

open access: yes, 2016
Obtaining full control over the internal and external quantum states of molecules is the central goal of ultracold chemistry and allows for the study of coherent molecular dynamics, collisions and tests of fundamental laws of physics.

Microwave and tunable far-infrared laser spectroscopy of the ammonia–water dimer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Microwave and far-infrared spectra of the H3N–HOH dimer have been recorded from 36 to 86 GHz and 520 to 800 GHz with a planar supersonic jet/tunable laser sideband spectrometer.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Modeling rock fragmentation by coupling Voronoi diagram and discretized virtual internal bond

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2020
The rock fragmentation involves the inter-block and the intra-block fracture. A simulation method for rock fragmentation is developed by coupling Voronoi diagram (VD) and discretized virtual internal bond (DVIB). The DVIB is a lattice model that consists

Internal dissipation of a polymer

open access: yes, 2010
The dynamics of flexible polymer molecules are often assumed to be governed by hydrodynamics of the solvent. However there is considerable evidence that internal dissipation of a polymer contributes as well.

US Monetary Policy and International Bond Markets [PDF]

open access: yesFinance and Economics Discussion Series, 2018
This paper uses high-frequency data to analyze the effects of US monetary policy--during the conventional and unconventional policy regimes--on foreign government bonds markets in advanced and emerging market economies. The results indicate that an expansionary US monetary policy steepens the foreign yield curve--denominated in local currency--during a
