Synthesis and characterizations of a novel composite films composed of polyethylene/oxide minerals
In this study, a new composite film consisting of polyethylene (PE)/oxide minerals (bentonite, silica, and diatomite) was successfully synthesized. Polymer modification was carried out by melting method.

We report that anion-π and cation-π interactions can occur on the same aromatic surface. Interactions of this type are referred to as ion pair-π interactions. Their existence, nature, and significance are elaborated in the context of spectral tuning, ion binding in solution, and activation of cell-penetrating peptides.

Superconductors as giant atoms: qualitative aspects [PDF]
When the Fermi level is near the top of a band the carriers (holes) are maximally dressed by electron-ion and electron-electron interactions. The theory of hole superconductivity predicts that only in that case can superconductivity occur, and that it is

Capillary zone electrophoretic studies of ion association between inorganic anions and tetraalkylammonium ions in aqueous-dioxane media [PDF]
Ion association between inorganic anions and symmetrical tetraalkylammonium ions, R4N+ (R = Me, Et, Pr, n-Bu, n-Am, and 2-methyl butyl {isoamyl = iAm}) was investigated using ordinary silica capillary by capillary zone electrophoresis.

Cooperative Noncovalent Interactions Induce Ion Pair Separation in Diphenylsilanides
AbstractThis crystallographic and computational study describes an unusual potassium silanide structure. A contact ion pair is expected in the solid state between potassium and silicon, yet the potassium cation binds an aromatic ring and the anionic silanide interacts with CH bonds on neighboring crown ether molecules. These structure‐bonding phenomena

Bosonic Spectral Function and The Electron-Phonon Interaction in HTSC Cuprates [PDF]
In Part I we discuss accumulating experimental evidence related to the structure and origin of the bosonic spectral function in high-temperature superconducting (HTSC) cuprates at and near optimal doping.

IDPM: an online database for ion distribution in protein molecules
Background Interactions between ions and proteins have been extensively studied, yet most of the studies focus on the ion binding site. The binding mechanism for many ion binding sites can be clearly described from high resolution structures.
