From Membrane Composition to Antimicrobial Strategies: Experimental and Computational Approaches to AMP Design and Selectivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising candidates for next‐generation antibiotics, acting through mechanisms such as membrane disruption and intracellular targeting. This review examines how variations in bacterial membrane composition critically influence AMP activity.

Occurrence of Ionophores in the Danish Environment

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2014
Antibiotics in the environment are a potential threat to environmental ecosystems as well as human health and safety. Antibiotics are designed to have a biological effect at low doses, and the low levels detected in the environment have turned focus on ...

Hydrogel Microneedle Array‐Based Transdermal Dressing System for Multiplexed Assessment and Intelligent Therapy of Chronic Wounds

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This work develops a theranostic wound microneedle dressing integrates a therapeutic MXene‐infused hydrogel with a high‐conductive sensor array enabled by a novel laser‐scribing technique. The platform actively promotes wound healing and provides antibacterial action while continuously monitoring seven key biomarkers.

Efeito da adição de butirato de sódio, propionato de cálcio ou monensina sódica no concentrado inicial sobre parâmetros ruminais e de desenvolvimento do rúmen de bezerros leiteiros Effect of inclusion of sodium butyrate, calcium propionate or sodium monensin in the starter feed on ruminal parameters and forestomach development in dairy calves

Trace Level Determination of Polyether Ionophores in Feed

open access: yesBioMed Research International, 2012
A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric method was developed and validated to determine six polyether ionophores (lasalocid sodium, monensin sodium, salinomycin sodium, narasin, maduramicin ammonium alpha, and semduramicin sodium) in feed samples. The

Sulfadiazine-selective determination in aquaculture environment: Selective potentiometric transduction by neutral or charged ionophores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Solid-contact sensors for the selective screening of sulfadiazine (SDZ) in aquaculture waters are reported. Sensor surfaces were made from PVC membranes doped with tetraphenylporphyrin-manganese(III) chloride, α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, or γ ...

The Mechanism of NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation and Its Roles in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT NLRP3 (NLR family pyrin domain containing 3) is one of the crucial receptors in pathogen recognition receptor (PRR) families which can recognize the pathogen‐associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and the damage‐associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), thus triggering innate immune response. After NLRP3 activation, it recruits the adaptor protein

Nitrate And Bicarbonate Selective Chemfets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The development of durable anion selective CHEMFET micro sensors is described. Selectivity in these sensors is either obtained from differences in hydration energy of the anions (the Hlofmeister series, giving nitrate selectivity) or by introduction of a
