Control of poorly immunogenic tumors with systemic STING agonist‐loaded liposomes targeting cross‐presenting dendritic cells

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 6, 2026.
WH‐peptide‐functionalised liposomes encapsulating STING or RIG‐I agonists target intra‐tumoral Clec9A+ cDC1 and pDC, triggering release of type 1 IFN, presentation of CD4 and CD8 endogenous tumor epitopes, expansion of CTL with help from CD4 T cells in spleen, and tumor cell killing.

Glutathione peroxidase 3 preserves hepatocyte mitochondrial quality control to enhance macrophage pro‐regenerative phenotype during liver regeneration

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
(1) GPX3 inhibits VDAC1 oligomerisation by directly binding to it. (2) The loss of GPX3 leads to VDAC1 oligomerisation, resulting in dysregulation of mitochondrial quality control, characterised by enhanced fission, weakened fusion and impaired autophagy.

Radiolabeled Coordination Polymer‐Loaded Microneedles for Synergistic Melanoma Brachytherapy–Immunotherapy via STING Activation and Pyroptosis

open access: yesExploration, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
We developed a dissolvable microneedle patch that locally delivers a radiolabeled coordination polymer designed to simultaneously destroy tumor cells and stimulate antitumor immunity through STING activation and pyroptosis. This strategy significantly inhibited melanoma growth and improved the effectiveness of immune checkpoint therapy, highlighting a ...

Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK) is Necessary for cGAS‐STING Signaling in Müller Glia and Visual Function Deficits in Diabetic Mice

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 6, June 2026.
Hyperglycemic conditions increased mitochondrial membrane permeability and inflammatory signaling in Müller cells via cGAS‐STING activation. SYK was necessary for cGAS–STING activation and increased cytokine expression in Müller cells. Müller glia‐specific SYK deletion reduced glial activation and attenuated inflammatory cytokine expression in the ...
