A Neuroprotective Dose of Isatin Causes Multilevel Changes Involving the Brain Proteome: Prospects for Further Research

open access: yes, 2020
Isatin (indole-2,3-dione) is an endogenous regulator, exhibiting a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities. At doses of 100 mg/kg and above, isatin is neuroprotective in different experimental models of neurodegeneration.

Isatin-Derived Compounds as Carbon Steel Corrosion Inhibitors in Highly Saline Media

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
Carbon steel corrosion in CO2-saturated solutions, simulating the produced water generated in oil and gas extraction, was investigated using weight loss, electrochemical measurements and surface characterization. The effectiveness of two isatin compounds,

Forward genetic screening of mutants of the wild diploid ancestor Nicotiana sylvestris identifies aspartate oxidase 2 as a key gene for nicotine biosynthesis in cultivated allotetraploid tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum)

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 1, April 2026.
SUMMARY Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is one of the most important commercial crops. It is an allotetraploid with two subgenomes derived from two wild diploid species: the maternal ancestor Nicotiana sylvestris and the paternal ancestor Nicotiana tomentosiformis.

1-Benzyl-5-methylindoline-2,3-dione

open access: yesIUCrData, 2016
The title compound, C16H13NO2, is an isatin (indole-2,3-dione) derivative. The isatin moiety is almost planar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.022 Å, and its mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 74.19 (12)° with the benzyl ring.

Universal Fluorine‐Free Proton Exchange Polymers for High‐Performance and Durable Fuel Cells Operable Under Severe Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 14, 6 March 2026.
Due to excellent physical and chemical stability, the novel designed fluorine‐free polymers with aliphatic‐chain backbones (SP‐PAC12‐QP) are regarded as promising and universal alternatives to perfluorosulfonic acid membranes. Their performances are further improved by physical reinforcement, where the fuel cell performance under high temperature and ...

Síntese e caracterização estrutural do ligante isatina-3-(N4-benziltiossemicarbazona) e do seu complexo de mercúrio(II) Synthesis and structural characterization of the ligand isatin-3-(N4-benzylthiosemicarbazone) and its mercury(II) complex

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2010
The reaction of 4-(phenyl)thiosemicarbazide with isatin yielded a new ligand, isatin-3-(N4-benzylthiosemicarbazone). Isatin-3-(N4-benzylthiosemicarbazone) deprotonated in ethanol/KOH reacts with an ethanolic solution of Hg(NO3)2 to give a mercury complex.

Isatin Derivatives as Inhibitors of Microtubule Assembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis describes the rationale, design, and syntheses of derivatives of isatin (1-H-indole-2,3-dione). Isatin was identified, during a high throughput screen of 10,000 compounds, as a potential scaffold for microtubule-destabilizing agents ...
