Isatin derivatives and their anti-bacterial activities

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2019
Bacterial infections are account for the majority of hospital-acquired and community-acquired infections. The emergency and widespread of drug-resistant pathogens has further worsened the situation. In recent years, various isatin derivatives have been screened for their anti-bacterial activities, and some of them demonstrated promising in vitro and in

A Review an Isatin, Isatin Derivatives and their Pharmacological Activity

Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics, 2021
Isatin or 1H-indole-2, 3-dione is an indole derivative. Isatin is an important class of heterocyclic compounds. Recently, heterocyclic compounds analogues and their derivatives have attracted strong interest in medicinal chemistry due to their biological and pharmacological properties. The structure have offered a high value of diversity that is proven

Electrochemical characterization of isatin-thiosemicarbazone derivatives

Journal of Chemical Sciences, 2021
Herein, we have notably described the electrochemical behavior of four isatin-thiosemicarbazone derivatives. In this regard, cyclic voltammograms of isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone (ITSC), isatin-3-(N4-benzylthiosemicarbazone) (ITSC-Ph), 1-(5-nitro-2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)thiosemicarbazide (NO2-ITSC) and 1-(5-nitro-2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)-4 ...

New isatin derivatives with antioxidant activity

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2010
The reaction between isatin and 2,5-dimethoxyaniline is described. The main product was identified as 3,3-bis(4-amino-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-dihydroindol-2-one. The antioxidant activity of the compounds isolated was evaluated with two methods. Three published antitumor E-3-(2-chloro-3-indolylmethylene)1,3-dihydroindol-2-ones entered the same tests to

Isatin halogen-derivatives redox behaviour

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2016
Abstract Isatin halogen-derivatives like other isatin derivatives have several pharmacoterapeutic applications, such as antibacterial, antitubercular, and anticancer activities. The electrochemical behaviour, at a glassy carbon electrode, of some mono- and di- fluoro, chloro, bromo and iodo isatin derivatives, by cyclic, square wave and differential ...

New isatin derivatives: synthesis and reactions

Synthetic Metals, 1990
Abstract The synthesis of new 5-substituted isatins with 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, 2,2′-bithien-5-yl and phenyl substituents is described. The compounds were prepared via the palladium-catalysed cross-coupling reaction of 5-bromoisatin with 2-thiophene, 3-thiophene, 2,2′-bithien-5-yl and benzene boronic acids, respectively.
