Abstract Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease that results in loss of insulin‐secreting pancreatic β‐cells in the islets of Langerhans. A diagnosis of T1D is typically associated with children and adolescents, yet half of all diagnoses of T1D are made in adults.

Are physiological oscillations physiological?
Abstract figure legend Mechanisms and functions of physiological oscillations. Abstract Despite widespread and striking examples of physiological oscillations, their functional role is often unclear. Even glycolysis, the paradigm example of oscillatory biochemistry, has seen questions about its oscillatory function.

This review highlights how autoimmune diseases arise from intertwined immunological, genetic, and environmental factors, emphasizing gut microbiota dysbiosis as a pivotal driver. It outlines emerging nanotechnology‐based strategies—such as liposomes, hydrogels, and polymeric nanoparticles—that enhance targeted drug delivery, minimize systemic toxicity,

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) mediate intercellular and interorgan communication during both physiological and pathological conditions. EVs include exosomes, ectosomes, and apoptotic bodies and contain bioactive molecules. EVs are delivered to proximal cells or can travel in bodily fluids and reach distant organs, where they trigger a response from the ...

Antidiabetic effect of honey feeding in noise induced hyperglycemic rat: involvement of oxidative stress [PDF]
Objective(s):In this study the effect of oral administration of honey on serum glucose, lipids, stress oxidative markers, and morphology of langerhans islets in noise induced hyperglycemic rats was investigated.

Cyclic AMP signalling in pancreatic islets [PDF]
Cyclic 3'5'AMP (cAMP) is an important physiological amplifier of glucose-induced insulin secretion by the pancreatic islet β-cell, where it is formed by the activity of adenylyl cyclases, which are stimulated by glucose, through elevation in ...

Pancreatic exocrine microcirculation exhibits sexual dimorphism arising from steroid–genetic interactions. Laser Doppler flowmetry combined with wavelet analysis identifies a male passive coupling phenotype aligned with systemic pressure and a female active vasomotion phenotype driven by ERβ‐mediated, NO‐dependent oscillations.

ABSTRACT We present a rare and diagnostically challenging case of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET) with intraductal growth into the main pancreatic duct (MPD), complicated by severe thrombocytopenia due to myelodysplastic syndrome. A 37‐year‐old male presented with thrombocytopenia.
