Objective To identify autoantibodies in presymptomatic individuals that associate with the onset of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and to distinguish early RA from osteoarthritis (OA), particularly in individuals lacking classic RA serologic markers. Methods We analyzed serum and plasma from three cohorts: presymptomatic individuals who later developed RA ...

Objective Somatic DNMT3A mutations are the most common drivers of clonal hematopoiesis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and have been associated with seropositive disease and increased inflammatory markers. These mutations are predominantly hypomorphic or dominant‐negative, reducing DNMT3A function.

Interaction of p53 with prolyl isomerases: Healthy and unhealthy relationships
BACKGROUND: The p53 protein family, comprising p53, p63 and p73, is primarily involved in preserving genome integrity and preventing tumor onset, and also affects a range of physiological processes.

ABSTRACT The agitation power input substantially impacts the oxygen transfer rate in aerobic fermentation processes. Furthermore, in a carbon‐limited process where the substrate feed rate is controlled by the concentration of dissolved oxygen, the power input will consequently govern the feed rate.

Bifunctional Substrate Activation via an Arginine Residue Drives Catalysis in Chalcone Isomerases
Chalcone isomerases are plant enzymes that perform enantioselective oxa-Michael cyclizations of 2′-hydroxychalcones into flavanones. An X-ray crystal structure of an enzyme–product complex combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveal an enzyme ...

ABSTRACT A recombinant whole‐cell biocatalytic approach provides several advantages over isolated enzymes, such as improved enzyme stability, in vivo cofactor regeneration, and the facilitation of cascade reactions within a single cell. Whole‐cell biocatalysis has gained attention in medicinal opioid production, due to its technical and economic ...

The chemistry and evolution of enzyme function: isomerases as a case study
The study of the evolution of proteins has been traditionally undertaken from a sequence and structural point of view. However any attempt to understand how protein function changes during evolution benefits from consistent definitions of function and ...
