Effect of dose on disposition kinetics of isometamidium chloride/hydrochloride in trypanosomiasis induced calves

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 2013
Effect of dose on disposition kinetics of isometamidium (ISMM) in Indian buffalo calves was studied in view of limited applications of the drug in India. Buffalo calves were pre grouped and trypanosomiasis was induced using Trypanosoma evansi. ISMM was administered intravenously at 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg/kg (body weight) to the grouped animals.

An evaluation of melarsomine hydrochloride efficacy for parasitological cure in experimental infection of dairy cattle with Trypanosoma evansi in Thailand

open access: yes, 2011
Melarsomine hydrochloride can cure Trypanosoma evansi infection in camels at a dose of 0·25 mg/kg, but at that dose relapses occur in cattle. In our study, the efficacy of an intramuscular injection of melarsomine hydrochloride at 0·5 mg/kg was assessed ...
