To the Editor.— Notterman et al (Pediatrics 1986;77:850-852) reported about an 8-month-old infant who absorbed crushed isoniazid in applesauce poorly both during treatment for tuberculous meningitis and later in pharmacokinetic studies. A second child exhibited a less severe malabsorption.

(1)Isoniazid was given alone in a 17- to 26-month trial in six patients, five with lepromatous leprosy, and one with tuberculoid leprosy, who had responded poorly to, or had had repeated lepra reactions from, the sulphone group of drugs. 2. (2) The dosage was never less than 3.9 mg/kg. body weight, and usually 8 to 9 mg/kg.
