The Azidofunctionalization of Alkenes
The azidofunctionalization of alkenes offers a powerful strategy for synthesizing nitrogen‐containing compounds by installing both an azide and a second functional group in one step. This approach, employing photoredox catalysis, transition metals, and radical methods, is efficient, selective, and versatile, with applications in pharmaceuticals and ...

“On Water” Photochemistry: Visible‐Light‐Induced Synthesis of Diaryl Sulfides by Nitrogen Extrusion
This study demonstrates an efficient and versatile blue light‐mediated synthesis of dissymmetric diaryl sulfides by nitrogen photoextrusion from diarylazo sulfides. The reaction is carried out “on water” without the need for (photo)catalysts or additives.

The reported aza‐dibenzodiprromethenes present a rare helical architecture, placing terminal aryl groups in a close, π‐stacked arrangement. Differentially terminated derivatives are prepared by statistical condensation or controlled synthesis via conversion of one partner to its tosylate or triflate.

Multistep Reactions Initiated by Amine‐Based Organometallic Methods
The advent of C–H activation and other organometallic methodologies making use of transient directing groups or free amines themselves for the elaboration of amine substrates provides unique access to cascade‐type reactions that can generate significant molecular complexity in one pot. The pursuit of atom‐ and step‐economical pathways to access complex

Highly selective oxidation of thiazolidin‐4‐ones to sulfoxides and sulfones with Oxone and KMnO4, respectively. ABSTRACT S‐Oxidation of 3‐Aryl‐2‐trichloromethyl‐1,3‐thiazolidin‐4‐ones with Oxone was investigated. For all compounds evaluated, selective oxidation to the sulfoxide versus the sulfone was realized using 3 equivalents of Oxone at room ...
