The Azidofunctionalization of Alkenes
The azidofunctionalization of alkenes offers a powerful strategy for synthesizing nitrogen‐containing compounds by installing both an azide and a second functional group in one step. This approach, employing photoredox catalysis, transition metals, and radical methods, is efficient, selective, and versatile, with applications in pharmaceuticals and ...

Conversion of Amides into Esters by the Nickel-Catalyzed Activation of Amide C-N Bonds [PDF]
The amide function is ubiquitous in natural compounds as well as in man-made molecules and materials. It is generally very stable and poorly reactive owing to its resonance-stabilized C–N group that imparts a planar geometry to amides.

“On Water” Photochemistry: Visible‐Light‐Induced Synthesis of Diaryl Sulfides by Nitrogen Extrusion
This study demonstrates an efficient and versatile blue light‐mediated synthesis of dissymmetric diaryl sulfides by nitrogen photoextrusion from diarylazo sulfides. The reaction is carried out “on water” without the need for (photo)catalysts or additives.

N-formylation of isoquinoline derivatives with CO2 and H2 over a heterogeneous Ru/ZIF-8 catalyst
Chemical utilization of CO2 is one of the fundamental strategies to synthesize value-added chemicals and reduce the CO2 emission. N-formyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives (FTHIQs) are important chemicals for the synthesis of medical ...

The reported aza‐dibenzodiprromethenes present a rare helical architecture, placing terminal aryl groups in a close, π‐stacked arrangement. Differentially terminated derivatives are prepared by statistical condensation or controlled synthesis via conversion of one partner to its tosylate or triflate.
