How Estrogen, Testosterone, and Sex Differences Influence Serum Immunoglobulin Isotype Patterns in Mice and Humans

open access: yesViruses, 2023
Females often exhibit superior immune responses compared to males toward vaccines and pathogens such as influenza viruses and SARS-CoV-2. To help explain these differences, we first studied serum immunoglobulin isotype patterns in C57BL/6 male and female

Combining Three Peripheral Blood Biomarkers to Stratify Rheumatoid Arthritis–Associated Interstitial Lung Disease Risk

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The purpose was to evaluate a biomarker score consisting of MUC5B rs35705950 promoter variant, plasma matrix metalloproteinase‐7 (MMP‐7), and serum anti–malondialdehyde‐acetaldehyde (anti‐MAA) antibody for rheumatoid arthritis (RA)–associated interstitial lung disease (ILD) risk stratification.

CD45RB Glycosylation and Ig Isotype Define Maturation of Functionally Distinct B Cell Subsets in Human Peripheral Blood

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
Glycosylation of CD45RB (RB+) has recently been identified to mark antigen-experienced B cells, independent of their CD27 expression. By using a novel combination of markers including CD45RB glycosylation, CD27 and IgM/IgD isotype expression we ...

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

COVID-19 vaccination induces cross-reactive dengue virus antibodies with altered isotype profiles and in vitro antibody-dependent enhancement

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundSARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination can induce antibodies that cross-react with dengue virus (DENV). Pre-existing IgG antibodies against DENV are known to enhance infection through antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) via Fcγ ...
