Stimulation of JNK Phosphorylation by the PTTH in Prothoracic Glands of the Silkworm, Bombyx mori

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2018
In this study, phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) by the prothoracicotropic hormone (PTTH) was investigated in prothoracic glands (PGs) of the silkworm, Bombyx mori. Results showed that JNK phosphorylation was stimulated by the PTTH in time-

A Subpopulation of Macrophages Infiltrates Hypertrophic Adipose Tissue and Is Activated by Free Fatty Acids via Toll-like Receptors 2 and 4 and JNK-dependent Pathways*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2007
Obesity and type 2 diabetes are characterized by decreased insulin sensitivity, elevated concentrations of free fatty acids (FFAs), and increased macrophage infiltration in adipose tissue (AT).

Macrophage–Derived Ferritin Exacerbates Silica‐Induced Pulmonary Fibrosis via PIK3R2‐Mediated Fibroblast Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ferritin as a pivotal mediator of silica‐induced pulmonary fibrosis. Macrophage‐derived ferritin drives fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast differentiation via the PIK3R2/SMAD pathway, while ferritin knockdown alleviates fibrosis. These findings define ferritin as both a biomarker and pathogenic driver, highlighting ferritin‐PIK3R2 ...

The cJUN NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway promotes genome stability and prevents tumor initiation

open access: yeseLife, 2018
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed malignancy in women. Analysis of breast cancer genomic DNA indicates frequent loss-of-function mutations in components of the cJUN NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway.

Oxidative Stress Induces Mouse Follicular Granulosa Cells Apoptosis via JNK/FoxO1 Pathway

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK) plays an important role in the regulation of cell apoptosis. Forkhead box O (FoxO) transcription factors are involved in diverse biological processes, including cellular metabolism, cell apoptosis, and cell cycle.

Identification of a Force‐Induced Sox9+Acan+ Transitional Subpopulation Linked to FGF2–FGFR2–ERK Signaling in Orthodontic Bone Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical loading induces a previously unrecognized Sox9+Acan+ transitional mesenchymal cell population in the periodontal ligament that promotes osteoclastogenesis via the FGF2–FGFR2–ERK axis. Targeting this mechanoresponsive stromal population using a localized GelMA@siRNA delivery strategy attenuates pathological osteoclast overactivation and root ...

miR‐135a‐5p Is a Promising Target to Prevent the Glomerulosclerosis Associated with Podocyte Developmental Toxicity in Offspring Induced by Prenatal Dexamethasone Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prenatal dexamethasone exposure (PDE) programs persistent podocyte developmental injury and adult glomerulosclerosis. Mechanistically, glucocorticoid receptor (GR) binds the miR‐135a‐5p promoter and recruits the histone acetyltransferase p300, increasing promoter histone acetylation and sustaining miR‐135a‐5p expression. Elevated miR‐135a‐5p suppresses

ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

Inactivation Rap2a in Endothelial Cell Prevents Pulmonary Fibrosis by Regulating Immune Microenvironment Through MAP4K4‐VCAM1 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified the endothelial RAP2A as a regulator of inflammatory endothelial activation in experimental lung fibrosis and suggest that targeting RAP2A‐mediated signaling may represent a potential strategy to modulate endothelial–immune crosstalk during fibrotic lung injury.
