On the Notion of Justice

open access: yesWieś i Rolnictwo, 2023
Justice is one of the basic values of ethics, which means that, like other values (good, truth, beauty), the concept of justice has a strong positive emotional charge.

A Proof‐of‐Concept Assessment of a Novel Wearable Eyelid Muscle Device: A Pre‐Clinical Animal Cadaver Study for Eyelid Closure Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Czy monady mają części? Witkiewicz i jego krytyka mereologii jako ontologii

open access: yesAnaliza i Egzystencja, 2017
This paper reconstructs Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s understanding of logic, accentuating the differences in his evaluation of logic and systems of ‘logistics’. Leśniewski’s theory of collective sets (mereology) exemplifies logistics as understood by

Tableaux and hypersequents for justification logics

open access: yesAnnals of Pure and Applied Logic, 2008
Logics of proofs (now called justification logics), introduced by S. Artemov, are usually based on S4. The author investigates a system S4LPN, introduced by S. Artemov and E. Nogina, which has an additional S5-like schema. He presents rather complicated tableau and hypersequent formulations for S4LPN. It is possible that a much more elegant formulation

Liquid Crystalline Elastomers in Soft Robotics: Assessing Promise and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline elastomers (LCEs) are programmable soft materials that undergo large, anisotropic deformation in response to external stimuli. Their molecular alignment encodes directional actuation in a monolithic structure, making them long‐standing candidates for soft robotic systems.

One reason, several logics

open access: yesManuscrito, 2011
Humans have used arguments for defending or refuting statements long before the creation of logic as a specialized discipline. This can be interpreted as the fact that an intuitive notion of "logical consequence" or a psychic disposition to articulate ...

Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard): An Aerial Robotic Swarm for Autonomous Detection and Entrapment of Rogue Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard) is introduced as a four‐drone swarm that autonomously detects, tracks, and safely captures rogue drones using a coordinated net system. Computer vision and leader–follower control architecture enable synchronized enclosure, while integrated failsafes enhance system reliability. Validated through closed‐environment

Racionalita a logika

open access: yesFilosofický časopis
It seems that more and more people are behaving unreasonably: they hold opinions for which there is no reasonable justification; they are easily persuaded by nonsense and scorn the role of institutions that were established in modern

Ethical Precision in Nanoscale Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As brain interfaces approach the nanoscale, precision no longer only measures—it knows, predicts, and potentially reshapes the mind. This work argues that traditional ethics fails under such conditions and proposes a shift toward continuous, operation‐based governance using the recovery–discovery framework to track, constrain, and responsibly steer ...
