International Guideline on the Diagnosis and Management of Pediatric Patients With Hereditary Angioedema

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 8, Page 2744-2774, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Hereditary angioedema (HAE) with C1 inhibitor deficiency is a rare disease characterized by unpredictable episodes of tissue swelling (angioedema), which, in most cases, occur first under the age of 18 years, and entail a significant burden of disease not only for the patients but also for their families.

Modeling Hereditary Angioedema With Personalized Expanded Potential Stem Cell‐Derived Hepatocytes: A CRISPR‐Validated Platform for Mutation‐Specific Mechanisms and Therapeutic Innovation

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 8, Page 2858-2873, August 2026.
Patient‐derived expanded potential stem cell (EPSC) hepatocytes reveal that pathogenic SERPING1 variants cause distinct cellular defects in hereditary angioedema. While most mutations reduce SERPING1 transcription and C1‐INH secretion, a large deletion induces intracellular C1‐INH retention.

Biofluid Biomarkers of Cognitive Functioning in Bipolar Disorder: A Systematic Review by the Targeting Cognition and Older‐Age Bipolar Disorder ISBD Task Forces

open access: yesBipolar Disorders, Volume 28, Issue 5, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is common in bipolar disorder (BD), but the underlying pathophysiology remains unclear. This systematic review aimed to (1) summarize all literature describing relationships of biofluid biomarkers and cognition in BD and (2) identify which biofluid biomarkers correlate most consistently with cognition in BD ...

Garadacimab for the long‐term prophylaxis of hereditary angioedema

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, Volume 24, Issue 8, Page e1034-e1044, August 2026.
Summary Hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare and debilitating disease characterized by recurrent and spontaneous attacks of tissue swelling, has a high unmet therapeutic need, with many patients experiencing insufficient disease control with current prophylactic treatments.

Physiological Characteristics of Scalp Skin With High Sebum Production and the Impacts of Shampoo Cleansing

open access: yesSkin Research and Technology, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The scalp has a higher sebum content than other body areas, leading to issues such as itchiness, dandruff and discomfort. In individuals with scalp seborrhoea, the relationships between sebum levels, hydration, barrier function and self‐perceived scalp condition remain poorly understood.

Nociception related biomolecules in the adult human saliva: A scoping review with additional quantitative focus on cortisol

open access: yesMolecular Pain
Nociception related salivary biomolecules can be useful patients who are not able to self-report pain. We present the existing evidence on this topic using the PRISMA-ScR guidelines and a more focused analysis of cortisol change after cold pain induction
