Predictable behavior of organic photovoltaic cells by Kelvin probe force microscopy

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceWe investigate a new way to access to the open circuit voltage (Voc) of organicphotovoltaic (OPV) cells: the Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM). KPFM is apowerful technique, allowing mapping the surface potential above any surface

Electronic‐State Polarization Engineering‐Regulated Fluorinated Covalent Organic Framework Nanocables for Fast Lithium‐Ion Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electronic‐state polarization engineering is realized by constructing fluorinated COF nanocables on conductive CNTs scaffolds. The polar C─F units generate localized electric fields and strong ion‐dipole interactions, promoting Li+ adsorption and transport.

Electrostatic Potential Complementarity for Thickness‐Tolerant Cathode Interlayers in High‐Efficiency Organic and Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two model molecules — trimesic acid (TMA) and phloroglucinol (PG) — with opposite central electrostatic potential (ESP) distributions are employed to elucidate how molecular electrostatic interactions regulate the cathode interlayer (CIL) PDINN. Electrostatic potential complementarity is revealed as the intrinsic origin of thickness sensitivity in CILs,

AFM-assisted fabrication of thiol SAM pattern with alternating quantified surface potential

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
Thiol self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) are widely used in many nano- and bio-technology applications. We report a new approach to create and characterize a thiol SAMs micropattern with alternating charges on a flat gold-coated substrate using atomic ...

Imaging ferroelectric domains via charge gradient microscopy enhanced by principal component analysis

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics, 2017
Local domain structures of ferroelectrics have been studied extensively using various modes of scanning probes at the nanoscale, including piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) and Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM), though none of these techniques ...

Modulating the Charge Transfer Channels via Constructing Charge‐Assisted Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Photosynthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a strategy of engineering charge‐assisted hydrogen bonds to tailor charge transfer channels in HOFs, significantly improving their performance in photocatalytic H2O2 production. ABSTRACT The production of H2O2 via artificial photosynthesis is often limited by inefficient charge‐carrier separation, causing significant charge ...
