Modelling of Behavior for Inhibition Corrosion of Bronze Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
In this work, three models based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) were developed to describe the behavior for the inhibition corrosion of bronze in 3.5% NaCl + 0.1 M Na2SO4, using the experimental data of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS ...

Optimal model‐based design of experiments for parameter precision: Supercritical extraction case

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from flowers. A parameter‐distributed model consisting of a set of partial differential equations is used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena in a cylindrical packed bed with solid chamomile particles under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as a solvent ...

Real‐World Edoxaban Concentrations in Older Patients Receiving Reduced‐Dose Regimens

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Real‐world edoxaban concentrations in older patients receiving reduced‐dose regimens. Low trough concentrations (< 12 ng/mL) were associated with an increased risk of thromboembolism. Among patients meeting the ELDERCARE‐AF criteria, low drug levels were more frequent with the 15 mg regimen than with the 30 mg regimen.

Epigenotoxicity: Decoding the epigenetic imprints of genotoxic agents and their implications for regulatory genetic toxicology

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
Abstract Regulatory genetic toxicology focuses on DNA damage and subsequent gene mutations. However, genotoxic agents can also affect epigenetic marks, and incorporation of epigenetic data into the regulatory framework may thus enhance the accuracy of risk assessment.

Enhancement of ketoconazole dissolution rate by the liquisolid technique

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica, 2018
The study was conducted to enhance the dissolution rate of ketoconazole (KCZ) (a poorly water-soluble drug) using the liquisolid technique. Microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silica, PEG400 and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) were employed as a carrier ...

Utilization of alginate with gum acacia/pectin/carrageenan as precipitation inhibitor to improve bioavailability in drug supersaturation: A case study of ketoconazole

open access: yesCarbohydrate Polymer Technologies and Applications, 2023
Weak base drugs tend to precipitate in the intestine, leading to a decrease in their bioavailability. Precipitation initiates with supersaturation due to a pH shift from the stomach to the small intestine.

Lactuca sativa L. losses and wastes as a source of biobased ingredients

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND The growing global population and increasing consumer focus on healthy eating challenge the agricultural sector to ensure both sustainable food production and safety. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa Mill.), the most cultivated leafy vegetable worldwide, can lose up to 40% of its weight during processing.
