Gas Chromatographic Determination of Urinary α-Ketoglutaric Acid
Analytical Letters, 1972Abstract Urinary α-Ketoglutaric acid was determined by gas chromatography as its trimethylsilylated quinoxalone derivative. Urine was evaporated and the residue reacted with o-phenylenediamine. Ethyl acetate was used to extract the quinoxalone thus formed. The quinoxalone was trimethysilylated and measured with an OV - 17 column.

Investigation of the phosphinyl analog of ?-ketoglutaric acid
Russian Chemical Bulletin, 1994It was shown by31P and13C NMR spectroscopy that methyl(3-carboxy-3-oxopropyl)phosphinic acid (4-methylhydroxyphosphinyl-2-oxobutyric acid) (1) and the amide (2) of the latter exist in keto forms in non-aqueous solutions. In aqueous solutions an equilibrium between the keto,gem-diol, and enol forms has been observed. The proportions of the diol and enol

[Assimilation of alpha-ketoglutaric acid by Azotobacter chroococcum].
Mikrobiologiia, 1976Labelled alpha-ketoglutaric acid was used to study the inability (complete or partial) of some strains of Azobacter chroococcum to grow on this substrate. This inability is interpreted by the absence, or a lower rate, of induced synthesis of the transport system specific of alpha-ketoglutaric acid.

[Alpha-ketoglutaric acid transamination of synthetic omega-amino acids in bacteria].
Mikrobiologiia, 1976Bacteria utilizing synthetic lactams and omega-amino acids contain enzymes involved in transamination of epsilon-aminocaproic, zeta-aminoenanthic, eta-aminocaprilic acids with alpha-ketoglutaric acid. Natural and synthetic omega-amino acids are not inductors of the synthesis of corresponding transaminases.
