Endometrial Stromal Cell Senescence: A Non‐Negligible Factor in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
As populations age, links between female reproductive aging and infertility are increasingly evident. Cellular senescence, characterized by near‐irreversible cell‐cycle arrest and accumulation of damage, can impair tissue function. In the endometrium, aberrant senescence of endometrial stromal cells (EnSCs) may compromise receptivity, hinder embryo ...

A Controlled Increase in Dietary Phosphate Elevates BP in Healthy Human Subjects. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Despite epidemiologic evidence for increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality associated with both high dietary and serum phosphate in humans with normal renal function, no controlled phosphate intervention studies of systemic ...

Klotho is highly expressed in the chief sites of regulated potassium secretion, and it is stimulated by potassium intake

open access: yesScientific Reports
Klotho regulates many pathways in the aging process, but it remains unclear how it is physiologically regulated. Because Klotho is synthesized, cleaved, and released from the kidney; activates the chief urinary K+ secretion channel (ROMK) and stimulates ...

Epigenetic Regulation in the Pathogenesis of Renal Inflammation: Insights and Therapeutic Potentials

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Renal inflammation is a common pathological process in various kidney diseases, often initiated by factors such as toxins, ischemia, or autoimmune reactions. This inflammatory response can result in structural damage and a rapid decline in renal function.

Spectroscopic survey of M--type asteroids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
M-type asteroids, as defined in the Tholen taxonomy (Tholen, 1984), are medium albedo bodies supposed to have a metallic composition and to be the progenitors both of differentiated iron-nickel meteorites and enstatite chondrites.

Reduced Circulating α‐Klotho Levels Are Associated With Elevated Mortality and Arterial Calcifications of Aorta and Iliac Arteries

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background α‐Klotho is a multifunctional protein implicated in vascular aging. Declining Klotho levels are associated with arterial stiffness, endothelial dysfunction, and vascular calcification.

Emerging Therapeutic Strategies in Anti‐Aging Medicine: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesMedicine Bulletin, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aging is orchestrated by interconnected hallmarks such as genomic instability, mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular senescence, and disrupted intercellular communication, which collectively drive chronic disease progression. Recent advances have expanded therapeutic opportunities to include pharmacological agents, gene and epigenome editing ...

Advancing Extracellular Vesicle Research: A Review of Systems Biology and Multiomics Perspectives

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane‐bound vesicles secreted by various cell types into the extracellular space and play a role in intercellular communication. Their molecular cargo varies depending on the cell of origin and its functional state.

Efficacy and safety of SGLT2 inhibitor on insulin resistance and hyperglycemia in Werner syndrome—A case report

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Dapagliflozin improved glycemic control and insulin resistance while preserving skeletal muscle mass, body weight, and renal function over 2 years in a patient with Werner syndrome. These findings suggest that SGLT2 inhibitors may be used safely with beneficial effects in patients with Werner syndrome.
