Elimination of bla KPC−2-mediated carbapenem resistance in Escherichia coli by CRISPR-Cas9 system

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2023
Objective The purpose of this study is to re-sensitive bacteria to carbapenemases and reduce the transmission of the bla KPC−2 gene by curing the bla KPC−2-harboring plasmid of carbapenem-resistant using the CRISPR-Cas9 system.

The Panchromatic Starburst Intensity Limit At Low And High Redshift [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The integrated bolometric effective surface brightness S_e distributions of starbursts are investigated for samples observed in 1. the rest frame ultraviolet (UV), 2. the far-infrared and H-alpha, and 3. 21cm radio continuum emission.

Defining the architecture of KPC-2 Carbapenemase: identifying allosteric networks to fight antibiotics resistance [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
AbstractThe rise of multi-drug resistance in bacterial pathogens is one of the grand challenges facing medical science. A major concern is the speed of development of β-lactamase-mediated resistance in Gram-negative species, thus putting at risk the efficacy of the most recently approved antibiotics and inhibitors, including carbapenems and avibactam ...

In vivo Selection of Imipenem Resistance Among Ceftazidime-Avibactam-Resistant, Imipenem-Susceptible Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolate With KPC-33 Carbapenemase

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
We describe in vivo evolution of carbapenem and ceftazidime-avibactam resistance by analyzing four longitudinal Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolates from a patient with pneumonia following antimicrobial treatment.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
