The Structural Role of N170 in Substrate‐Assisted Deacylation in KPC‐2 β‐Lactamase

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, 2023
AbstractThe amino acid substitutions in Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase 2 (KPC‐2) that have arisen in the clinic are observed to lead to the development of resistance to ceftazidime‐avibactam, a preferred treatment for KPC bearing Gram‐negative bacteria.

800 QM/MM minimum energy pathway conformations for the deacylation reactions of KPC-2/Imipenem

open access: yes, 2022
The datasets comprise 800 coordinate files (in the CHARMM psf/cor format) for the QM/MM minimum energy pathways of the deacylation reactions between a Class A beta-lactamases (KPC wild type (KPC-WT) and KPC Phe72Tyr mutant (KPC-F72Y)) and the imipenem ...

In vivo Selection of Imipenem Resistance Among Ceftazidime-Avibactam-Resistant, Imipenem-Susceptible Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolate With KPC-33 Carbapenemase

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
We describe in vivo evolution of carbapenem and ceftazidime-avibactam resistance by analyzing four longitudinal Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolates from a patient with pneumonia following antimicrobial treatment.

Tumor‐Derived LAMB3 Drives Immunosuppressive LRRC15+ Fibroblast Formation During Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A single‐cell atlas of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma development reveals progressive ductal‐fibroblast‐immune crosstalk. Tumor‐derived LAMB3 drives the formation of immunosuppressive LRRC15+ fibroblasts through the ITGB1/FAK/MAPK/FOSL2 signaling. Glycolytic reprogramming upregulates LAMB3 and correlates with LRRC15+ fibroblast enrichment.

KPC-2-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae ST11 in a Children’s Hospital in Poland [PDF]

open access: yesPolish Journal of Microbiology, 2017
Abstract Four Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from children hospitalized over 10 months in an intensive care unit in a children’s teaching hospital in Poland were analyzed. All of the isolates belonged to a single pulsotype and sequence type (ST) 11, and produced the KPC-2 ...

Murine models for familial pancreatic cancer: Histopathology, latency and drug sensitivity among cancers of Palb2, Brca1 and Brca2 mutant mouse strains.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Alterations of the PALB2 tumor suppressor gene have been identified in familial breast, ovarian and pancreatic cancer cases. PALB2 cooperates with BRCA1/2 proteins through physical interaction in initiation of homologous recombination, in maintenance of ...
