Enhancing Meat Quality Through Dietary Fiber: Insights Into the Gut Microbiota‐Derived Short‐Chain Fatty Acids‐Muscle Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary fiber (DF) modulates meat quality through the gut‐muscle axis by reshaping gut microbiota, improving intestinal integrity, reducing inflammation, and regulating muscle metabolism. These mechanisms influence muscle fiber characteristics and post‐mortem biochemistry, thereby enhancing tenderness, juiciness, color, flavor, and nutritional value of

Analysis of individualized brain–gut association networks and transcriptional patterns in major depressive disorder

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Individualized brain–gut association networks suggest potential neuropathological mechanisms in MDD and MDDSI. Multilevel brain–gut association changes involving HSV‐1 and inflammation may be relevant to MDD, whereas alterations related to insulin metabolism may play a potential role in the neuropathological mechanisms of MDDSI.

Synthesis of L-Carnosine and its Applications in Biomedical Field [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The 18th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry, 2014
Chelation therapy is the administration of chelating agents to remove heavy metals from the body. Chelation therapy has a long history of use in clinical toxicology. For the most common forms of heavy metal intoxication – lead, arsenic, or mercury. a number of chelating agents are available are Ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA), Dimercaptosuccinic ...

THE EFFECT OF L-CARNOSINE ON ERYTHROCYTE DEFORMABILITY AND AGGREGATION ACCORDING TO THE CELL AGE IN YOUNG AND AGED RATS

open access: yesActa Medica, 2013
This study aimed to investigate alterations in hemorheology induced by L-carnosine, an anti- oxidant dipeptide, and to determine their relationship to oxidative stress in density-separated erythrocytes of aged and young rats.

Nanoplastics: Methods, Exposure and Effects on Domestic, Farm and Wild Animals

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nanoplastics (NPs) are synthetic polymer particles ranging in size from 1 nm to 1 μm that have been identified as a major concern for ecosystems and organisms due to their plethora of negative effects. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge relating to exposure and effects of NPs in domestic (i.e., farm ...

Dietary Carnitine and Carnosine Increase Body Lean in Healthy Cats in a Preliminary Study

open access: yesBiology, 2021
The need to maintain body lean as cats age is shown in both health and disease. In healthy cats, body lean is associated with enhanced movement and overall longevity. In many disease states (i.e., renal disease, obesity), an enhanced or minimally maximal

Integrated Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals the Genetic Basis of Phenotypic Variation in Tibetan Sheep

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
SNaPshot‐validated GWAS results demonstrated significant correlations between candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and body size traits in Tibetan sheep. Concurrently, hematoxylin and eosin staining, alongside muscle fiber analysis, confirmed pronounced morphological differences in muscle tissue between sheep of varying conformation.
