This article has two main objectives. First, we offer an introduction to the subfield of generative third language (L3) acquisition. Concerned primarily with modeling initial stages transfer of morphosyntax, one goal of this program is to show how ...

Applied here for the first time to a 2D material, high‐resolution synchrotron x‐ray Fourier transform holography directly images topological spin textures in Fe3GeTe2. Combined with atomistic tight‐binding simulations including itinerant electrons and Rashba spin‐orbit coupling, the approach reveals labyrinth, skyrmion, and mixed phases, and uncovers ...

Enhanced Magnetism in Cation‐Modulated Manganite Heterostructures
Magnetic contrast is introduced within a single manganite system via a small modulation of the cation ratio. Enhanced magnetization occurs in superlattices with small stoichiometric differences. The combined SQUID, polarized neutron reflectometry, and x‐ray absorption spectroscopy results are consistent with the interfacial electronic reconstruction ...

L3 acquisition of English present perfect
This study investigates L3 acquisition of the English present perfect by Greek Cypriot speakers. One hundred CG university students took part in the study, the first part of which examined sensitivity to grammatical norms (a passage correction task, based on Odlin et al., 2006), and the other part focused on the production of the English present ...

Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

A constraint‐based analytical framework maps the coupled effects of material properties, structural parameters, and operating conditions in tubular dielectric elastomer pumps for extracorporeal circulatory applications. The approach defines performance boundaries through mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic constraints and identifies feasible design ...

Two‐Dimensional Isotropic Spatial Differentiation Through Complete Polarization Control
This work enables two‐dimensional isotropic spatial differentiation at planar interfaces over a wide range of incident angles by extending the output polarization from linear to elliptical. The choice of incident angle can be used to balance broader spectral response at low angles and higher edge‐detection efficiency at larger angles.

Measuring metalinguistic awareness among heritage speakers in the US-based L3 context
Metalinguistic awareness is considered by many to be a crucial ingredient for successful adult foreign-language acquisition. Researchers further suggest that it helps bilinguals learning a third language (L3) even more than it does monolinguals learning ...
