Loss of Dnmt3a Immortalizes Hematopoietic Stem Cells In Vivo

open access: yesCell Reports, 2018
Summary: Somatic mutations in DNMT3A are recurrent events across a range of blood cancers. Dnmt3a loss of function in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) skews divisions toward self-renewal at the expense of differentiation. Moreover, DNMT3A mutations can be

Propagation of MM Virus in L Cells [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 1969
MM virus (mouse-brain stock) replicated to a limited extent in L cells without cytopathic effects; the average yield was less than 1 plaque-forming unit/cell. Passage in BHK-21 cells resulted in MM virus [MM(BHK)] which replicated to high titers (200 to 300 plaque-forming units/cell) in L cells with complete cytopathic effects.

State of the Art of Fuel Cells for Ship Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Fuel cells promise to be far more efficient, produce lower or zero emissions, and operate cleaner than conventional internal-combustion engine and gas turbine. They are already used for transportation application (buses, cars and tramways).

What Is an L-Cell and How Do We Study the Secretory Mechanisms of the L-Cell? [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2021
Synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogues are effective anti-obesity and anti-diabetes drugs. The beneficial actions of GLP-1 go far beyond insulin secretion and appetite, and include cardiovascular benefits and possibly also beneficial effects in neurodegenerative diseases.

Embryonic cortical neural stem cells migrate ventrally and persist as postnatal striatal stem cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Embryonic cortical neural stem cells apparently have a transient existence, as they do not persist in the adult cortex. We sought to determine the fate of embryonic cortical stem cells by following Emx1(IREScre); LacZ/EGFP double-transgenic murine cells ...

L-Selectin Enhanced T Cells Improve the Efficacy of Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
The homing molecule, L-selectin (CD62L), is commonly used as a T cell activation marker, since expression is downregulated following engagement of the T cell receptor.

ABCE1 Regulates RNase L-Induced Autophagy during Viral Infections

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Host response to a viral infection includes the production of type I interferon (IFN) and the induction of interferon-stimulated genes that have broad antiviral effects.

Sensitive superoxide detection in vascular cells by the new chemiluminescence dye L-012 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The detection superoxide production in vascular cells is usually limited by a low sensitivity of available assays, We tested the applicability of the luminol derivate L-012 {[}8-amino-5-chloro-7-phenylpyridol{[}3,4-d]pyridazine-l,4(2H,3H)dione] to ...

Endothelial cells modulate renin secretion from isolated mouse juxtaglomerular cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Utilizing cocultures of mouse renal juxtaglomerular cells with bovine microvascular endothelial cells, we have examined whether endothelial cells exert direct influence on renin secretion from renal juxtaglomerular cells.

Low-dose levodopa protects nerve cells from oxidative stress and up-regulates expression of pCREB and CD39. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the influence of low-dose levodopa (L-DOPA) on neuronal cell death under oxidative stress. METHODS: PC12 cells were treated with L-DOPA at different concentrations. We detected the L-DOPA induced reactive oxygen
