A Machine Learning‐Based Model for Individualized Prediction of Vancomycin Concentration‐Time Curves in ICU Patients

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 2, April 2026.
A machine learning–integrated pharmacokinetic model improves individualized prediction of vancomycin concentration–time profiles in ICU patients and outperforms traditional pharmacokinetic models, providing a practical decision‐support tool for precision dosing.

Emergence of Tigecycline‐Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Harbouring tmexC6D6‐toprJ1b From Hospital Sewage in Japan

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study isolated a Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain (KAM950) carrying the tmexCD‐toprJ gene cluster from hospital sewage in Japan. The strain exhibited reduced susceptibility to tigecycline and carbapenems, harboured chromosomal tmexC6D6‐toprJ1b and oprD disruption, and belonged to epidemic clone ST244, emphasising emerging multidrug resistance and the

Pyridine Into Pyrrole Transformation Induced Within the Confinement of the Macrocycle

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 11, 9 March 2026.
This work demonstrates the nontrivial reactivity of pyridine incorporated into a porphyrin framework. The most significant achievement is the contraction of the six‐membered ring to a pyrrole ring, which is a phenomenon of great interest to researchers in this field.

Enhancing diabetic foot osteomyelitis diagnosis with metagenomics next‐generation sequencing, proof of concept

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, Volume 43, Issue 4, April 2026.
The use of mNGS with the MinION tool clearly provides a significant advantage compared to routine culture by identifying a higher diversity of pathogens in diabetic foot osteomyelitis. It also highlights the value of this method in clinical decision making, despite the technical challenges inherent in metagenomic sequencing.

First Detection of Lactococcus formosensis subsp. formosensis in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Europe

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Lactococcus garvieae, Lactococcus petauri and Lactococcus formosensis are etiological agents of piscine lactococcosis, a disease reported in Italy since the early 1990s and linked to significant aquaculture losses. To the best of our knowledge, this study reports the first detection of L. formosensis subsp. formosensis in farmed rainbow trout (

Transaminase and Norcoclaurine Synthase One‐Pot Cascades Towards (1S)‐Tetrahydroisoquinolines

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
A TAm‐NCS cascade towards THIQs has been established, starting from amines with the in situ production of aldehydes. The cascade was used with a variety of nonfunctionalized and functionalized amines, and reaction conditions modified to enhance formation of the desired cross‐products.

Identification of ZFTA as a Novel KLHL20 Substrate and Mechanistic Insights Into Fuzzy Binding of Disordered Peptides via Biosensor Analysis and Computational Modelling

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
An AlphaFold 2 model of a peptide derived from zinc finger translocation associated (ZFTA) protein in complex with the Kelch domain of KLHL20 (KLHL20Kelch). Sensorgrams from surface plasmon resonance biosensor experiments of the interaction between a ZFTA‐derived peptide with immobilised KLHL20Kelch shows that the interaction is complex and has a ...

Targeting the Membrane‐Embedded Rhomboid Protease GlpG: A Multimodal Strategy for Inhibitor Discovery and Mechanistic Insight

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 10, 2 March 2026.
Created in BioRender. Bohg, C. (2026) https://BioRender.Com/ vi9hi4f. Rhomboid proteases are a mechanistically unique and evolutionarily conserved protein family. Despite their pharmacological relevance, the development of selective inhibitors has lagged behind that of soluble proteases.
