Effects of replacing alfalfa hay with Lycium barbarum branch on milk performance, nutrient digestibility, and ruminal fermentation in Holstein dairy cows

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: Use of unconventional feeds is an important way to solve the shortage of traditional forage resources in dairy production. This study evaluated the effects of replacing alfalfa hay with Lycium barbarum branches (LBB) in dairy cow diets on the lactation

Effect of Lasalocid on Performance of Lactating Dairy Cows

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1990
Thirty-two midlactation dairy cows were fed either a typical dairy diet or the same diet plus 340 mg lasalocid/d for 98 d. Diets were 65% forage (alfalfa and corn silage) and 35% concentrate (DM basis). Lasalocid did not affect production of milk (21 kg/d) or FCM (20 kg/d) or milk composition.

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.

Chicory reduces enteric methane emissions and maintains milk yield but decreases milk fat content compared with perennial ryegrass in dairy cows

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: The effects of chicory (Cichorium intybus) and perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) diets on methane (CH4) emissions, feed intake, feeding behavior, and lactation performance in dairy cows were assessed using a randomized complete block design.
