1,2‐Dihydroxyanthraquinone, 6,7‐Dihydroxyisobenzofuranone and 7,8‐Dihydroxyquinolinone Derivatives as Ligands for the Self‐Assembly of Hierarchically Formed Lithium‐Bridged Titanium(IV) Helicates

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Catechol‐based annulated aromatics with carbonyl units are ideal ligands for the formation of titanium(IV) containing lithium‐bridged hierarchical helicates. They allow for the first time the use of amide units to obtain the dimeric helicate‐type complexes.

Formation of Bicyclic Skeletons by Aerobic, Manganese‐Mediated Cyclization of β‐Oxoesters

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Manganese(III) promotes aerobic radical cyclization reactions of β‐oxoesters with an ω‐alkenyl side chain at the β’‐position to give bicyclic products with a 1,4‐dicarbonyl structure. Bicyclic perhydro‐pentalene, ‐indene, and ‐azulene, as well as decaline skeletons were accessed by aerobic manganese(III)‐mediated radical cyclizations of cyclic β ...

Isotelluroureas for Asymmetric C1 Ammonium Enolate Reactions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Chiral isotelluroureas are powerful catalysts for a variety of C─C bond forming C1 ammonium enolate transformations. Isotelluroureas (ITeUs) have recently been introduced as a novel class of highly nucleophilic Lewis base catalysts. Herein, we systematically screened them for their potential to facilitate C1 ammonium enolate transformations and ...

Retro‐Hetero‐Michael Addition Strategies in Organic Synthesis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
In this review, synthetic approaches to carbo‐ and heterocyclic compounds, including natural products, published in the last 15 years (2011–2025) which have either relied upon or included a retro‐hetero‐Michael addition step at any stage are discussed.

Simulation‐Driven Optimization of a Borosilicate/Al/Al2O3/Graphene Multilayer SPR Sensor for Aqueous Detection of Metal Ions and Their Binary Mixtures

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
A cost‐effective surface plasmon resonance sensor using a borosilicate prism, 60 nm aluminum, an optimized 8–10 nm Al2O3 spacer, and graphene oxide achieves up to 338(°)/RIU sensitivity with narrow linewidth, enabling reliable detection and discrimination of Hg(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), and their binary mixtures in water.

Parascaris spp. induced surgical colic in juvenile horses—A Scandinavian perspective

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Parascaris spp. commonly infects foals, and high burdens can cause fatal small intestinal impactions. Progressive anthelmintic resistance poses a risk for an increase of Parascaris spp. related disease in juvenile horses. Objectives To investigate Parascaris‐related surgical intestinal lesions, with special emphasis on ascarid ...
