Structural characterization of phytotoxic terpenoids from Cestrum parqui. [PDF]
Isolation, chemical characterization and phytotoxicity of nine polyhydroxylated terpenes (five C13 nor-isoprenoids, two sesquiterpenes, a spirostane and a pseudosapogenin) from Cestrum parqui LHerr are reported.

Sesquiterpene lactones (STLs) are a prominent group of plant secondary metabolites predominantly found in the Asteraceae family and have multiple ecological roles and medicinal applications. This review describes the evolutionary and ecological significance of STLs, highlighting their roles in plant defence mechanisms against herbivory and as ...

Synthesis of Crosslinked Biopolyesters Catalyzed by Natural Amino Acids
Highly crosslinked bio‐polyesters were synthesized via the ROCOP reaction between epoxidized sunflower oil and biobased cyclic anhydrides. The resulting materials were comprehensively characterized by FT‐IR, TGA, and DSC. A cross‐linked network in the bio‐based polymers has been confirmed by dynamic mechanical analysis.

We present an asymmetric formal synthesis of pseudolaric acid B, for which we developed a new family of substrates with an epoxide geminally tethered to a sidechain bearing a furan, which undergoes a TESOTf‐catalyzed intramolecular (4+3) cycloaddition to yield the trans‐fused perhydroazulene core and the requisite quaternary stereocenter of the natural

The Synthesis of Cyclopropyl‐Fused Tetrahydrofurans from Vinylcyclopropanes
Vinylcyclopropanes undergo iodocyclization to afford a series of oxabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanols. These substrates were shown to be useful intermediates for the construction of various cyclopropyl‐fused polycycles. Abstract The rapid synthesis of oxabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanols from various vinylcyclopropanes is described.

The antioxidant efficacy of Colocasia esculenta flower’s methanolic extract was assessed using 2,2′‐azino‐bis‐(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic) (ABTS) and 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging assay. The hepatoprotective effect was investigated by assessing liver injury indicators (amino transferase [ALT], aspartate amino transferase [AST],

Deciphering Tryptophan Oxygenation: Key Modulators of 2‐Oxindole Formation in MarE
This study reveals that MarE, a heme‐dependent aromatic oxygenase, favors dioxygenation of β‐methyl‐l‐tryptophan in the absence of ascorbate and demonstrates how structural and redox tuning shifts its reactivity toward selective monooxygenation, yielding a 2‐oxindole scaffold. These findings offer new insights into enzyme‐controlled indole oxidation in
