A laminated core type parametric induction motor
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1997A new type of a parametric motor using a laminated iron core is proposed in this paper. The structure and the fundamental performance characteristics of the motor are discussed. It is clarified that the output and efficiency of the trial motor are comparable to conventional single phase induction motors.

A-type lamins: Guardians of the soma?
Nature Cell Biology, 2004The gene LMNA encodes the proteins lamins A and C and is implicated in nine different laminopathies - inherited diseases that are linked to premature ageing. Recent evidence has demonstrated that lamins A and C have essential functions in protecting cells from physical damage, as well as in maintaining the function of transcription factors required for

Laminopathies and A-type lamin-associated signalling pathways
Advances in Enzyme Regulation, 2010IntroductionThe nuclear envelope (NE) is the most important border in the eukaryotic cells, essential inmaintaining the identity of the nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments and in allowing additionallevels of regulation and control of the gene expression.

A Slice-Type Magnetoelectric Laminated Current Sensor
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2015This paper describes the design and the implementation of a new structure for an ac current sensor based on a magnetoelectric laminated composite slice. Two layers of longitudinally magnetized magnetostrictive material Terfenol-D (Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe1.92) and one layer of transversely polarized piezoelectric material Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) were epoxy-bonded and ...

Lamina-associated polypeptide 2α binds intranuclear A-type lamins
Journal of Cell Science, 2000ABSTRACT The nucleoskeletal protein lamina-associated polypeptide 2α (LAP2α) contains a large, unique C terminus and differs significantly from its alternatively spliced, mostly membrane-integrated isoforms, such as LAP2β. Unlike lamin B-binding LAP2β, LAP2α was found by confocal immunofluorescence microscopy to colocalize preferentially
