Synergistic Blend Spinning of Bioactive Lyocell Fibers for Antibacterial and Anti‐Inflammatory Skin Protection

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 4, April 2026.
Multifunctional lyocell fibers are engineered by synergistic blend spinning of bioactive small molecules and zinc ions. The fibers exhibit durable antibacterial activity, suppress infection‐induced inflammation, modulate macrophage polarization, and promote angiogenesis and collagen remodeling, thereby accelerating healing of bacteria‐infected wounds ...

Understanding cell‐penetrating peptide mechanisms using computational electrophysiology simulations

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Cell‐penetrating peptides (CPPs) can enter cells without inducing cytotoxicity and can be coupled with cargo molecules to be used to deliver drugs, DNA, or nanoparticles into cells. The peptide‐membrane interactions driving the internalization mechanism are not completely understood. In this study, we introduce Computational Electrophysiology (

Clinical Effectiveness of Rikkunshito in Neonates With Radiologically Confirmed Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and Gastric Volvulus

open access: yesTraditional &Kampo Medicine, Volume 13, Issue 1, April 2026.
This retrospective study demonstrates the therapeutic efficacy of Rikkunshito in neonates with radiologically confirmed gastric volvulus or gastroesophageal reflux disease. Rikkunshito treatment significantly improved weight gain and vomiting frequency without serious adverse events, suggesting it is a safe and effective pharmacologic option.

Resurrected Ancestral Cannabis Enzymes Unveil the Origin and Functional Evolution of Cannabinoid Synthases

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, Page 2685-2697, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), are bioactive and medicinally relevant compounds found in the cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa L.). These three compounds are synthesised from a single precursor, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), through regioselective reactions ...

Distance‐Dependent Energy Transfer Between Organic Fluorophores and Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 12, 16 March 2026.
We demonstrate that the dsDNA part adopts a perpendicular orientation to the SWCNT and present a distance‐dependent energy transfer of single fluorescent dyes to SWCNTs. Carbon nanotube energy transfer (CNET) obeys a d−5 distance dependence with a characteristic distance of 7.4 nm (± 0.7 nm) for 50 % energy transfer.

Licking latency with licorice [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 2005
Numerous viruses cause latent infections in humans, and reactivation often results in pain and suffering. While vaccines for several of these viruses are available or currently being studied in clinical trials, and antiviral therapies have been successful in preventing or treating active infection, therapy to eradicate latent infection has lagged ...
