Bisphenol S Induces Lipid Metabolism Disorders in HepG2 and SK-Hep-1 Cells via Oxidative Stress

open access: yesToxics
Bisphenol S (BPS) is a typical endocrine disruptor associated with obesity. To observe BPS effects on lipid metabolism in HepG2 and SK-Hep-1 human HCC cells, a CCK-8 assay was used to assess cell proliferation in response to BPS, and the optimal ...

Lifecycles of EBV and Cancer

open access: yesUirusu, 2014
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a member of gamma-herpesvirus, which can cause various types of tumor. Coexisting with the host for a long period of time, it has evolved unique and sophisticated strategy for survival by taking complicated, tactical modes of infection.

RNA‐Binding Protein RBM25 Targets the mRNA Stability of GTPase Rab22a to Restrict Viral Entry and Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies RNA‐binding protein RBM25 as a broad‐spectrum antiviral factor acting independently of type I interferon. It blocks viral entry by suppressing GTPase Rab22a via the RC3H1‐mediated destabilization of Rab22a mRNA. Viral downregulation of RBM25 enhances GTPase Rab22a expression and viral entry, revealing an unreported post ...

Stochastic Insights into Leakage Dynamics across Diverse Pipe Materials in Water Distribution Systems

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
This study developed more realistic stochastic models of pipe failures that incorporate leak types and dimensions based on different pipe materials. The distributions of pipe failure types and properties were identified by analysing photographic records ...

RBM12 Maintains Glioma Stem Cells by Activating Amino Acid‐Dependent mTORC1 Signaling via SLC7A5 mRNA Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that in glioma stem cells (GSCs), RBM12 recruits ALKBH5 to remove m6A from SLC7A5 transcripts, thereby enhancing mRNA stability, which elevates large neutral amino acid (LNAA) levels and activates mTORC1, promoting GSC proliferation, self‐renewal, and tumor growth.

Servicization of Product Lifecycle Management: Towards Service Lifecycle Management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Nowadays, many manufacturing industries are operating a process of servicization, id est the build-up of services to a product-centered offer. The implementation of service engineering into product-related activities requires a company to adapt to the new stakes on several levels, including strategic approaches and information systems.

A Sustainable Bio‐Based Epoxy Thermoset as a High‐Performance Alternative to BPA‐Based Resins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid–flexible bio‐based epoxy network integrates soybean oil, lignin, and maleic anhydride to overcome the strength–toughness–sustainability trade‐off of conventional BPA epoxy. The thermoset delivers excellent performance as both a structural adhesive and a matrix for glass‐fabric composites, while enabling pH‐responsive degradation, environmental ...

Functional genetic variants and susceptibility and prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus

open access: yesScientific Reports
The aetiological mechanism of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has still not been fully understood. The aim of this study was to explore the associations between functional genetic variants screened from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and GDM ...

Wake‐Up and Fatigue under Electrical Cycling in HfO2‐Based Ferroelectrics: Mechanisms and Strategies toward Reliable Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HfO2‐based ferroelectrics exhibit wake‐up and fatigue behaviors during electrical cycling, significantly affecting device endurance and reliability. These phenomena are governed by defect dynamics, including oxygen vacancy redistribution and charge trapping.
