Optically perceptible characteristics of sprites observed in Central Europe in 2007–2009 [PDF]
Sprites are luminous optical emissions accompanying electric discharges in the mesosphere. 489 sprite events have been observed with a TV frame rate video system in Central Europe from Sopron (47.68 °N, 16.58 °E, ~230m MSL), Hungary between 2007 and 2009.

Studying Recorded lightning over Iraq for Period 1998-2011
This research studies distribution of thunderstorm in Iraq for the period (1998-2011), the result showed that the largest regions which had been hit by lightning stroke were between latitude (35-36◦)E and longitude (45-46◦)N, and April was the most ...

Advances of Observation and Study on Tall-object Lightning in Guangzhou over the Last Decade
Comparing to the ground or low-object, tall-object is more likely to reach the threshold for the initiation of leader on its top due to the distortion and enhancement of electric field, therefore tall-object is not only easier to get struck by downward ...

Influences of Building Slope Angle on the Initiation of Stable Upward Leader
The slope angle (or top angle) of the building significantly influences the formation of upward leader. To simulate the lightning strike process on tall and sloping building using three-dimensional variable grid leader model, the influence of slope angle

This study identifies that the PD‐associated TMEM175‐L156P variant disrupts lysosomal ion channel trafficking by causing aberrant endoplasmic reticulum retention. A “chaperone–agonist” bifunctional small molecule restores TMEM175‐L156P lysosomal localization and channel function, thereby alleviating PD‐relevant cellular phenotypes and highlighting a ...
