Periodontal Status and Oral Health–Related Quality of Life in Patients With Reticular and Nonreticular Oral Lichen Planus: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory mucocutaneous disease that may affect oral health parameters. This study examined the relationships between periodontal status, dental health, and oral health‐related quality of life (OHRQoL) in patients with reticular and nonreticular OLP. Methods This cross‐sectional observational

Foundation Models in Diagnosis of Ophthalmic Diseases: Construction and Application

open access: yesEye &ENT Research, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 45-58, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence holds promise for addressing the uneven distribution of medical resources across different regions. Compared with convolutional neural network models, foundation models offer significant advantages: on one hand, their pre‐training does not rely on massive labeled data; on the other hand, they possess the capability to ...

Analysis of Quality Differences in Rhizoma Musae From Different Origins Based on Rhizosphere Soil Bacterial Diversity and Metabolomics

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study integrated bacterial diversity and metabolomics to explore correlations among soil factors, rhizosphere microorganisms, and quality of Rhizoma Musae from different origins. Significant differences in active components and 571 differential metabolites were detected, enriched in key secondary metabolism pathways.

Energy‐Based Phase‐Locking State Analysis in Brain State Identification

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 8, June 1, 2026.
EPLSA constructs an energy landscape from BOLD phase synchrony, achieving superior brain state classification and providing novel stability metrics. It demonstrates strong clinical translatability in characterizing sleep–wake transitions and Alzheimer's disease.

Efficacy of Multimodal Work‐Up of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Lymph Node Metastasis of Unknown Primary

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 6, Page 1426-1436, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) often presents with cervical lymph node metastasis, with 1%–4% of cases presenting as cancer of unknown primary (CUP). CUP poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and is linked to poorer survival outcomes.

Dysregulation of the TLR4/MyD88/NF‐κB Signaling Pathway and Pro‐Inflammatory Cytokines in First‐Episode Major Depressive Disorder: A Cross‐Sectional Case–Control Study

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Inflammation is increasingly recognized as a key contributor to the development and progression of major depressive disorder (MDD). This case–control study aims to assess the expression of inflammatory pathway components (TRIF, MyD88, NF‐κB) and serum levels of TNF‐α and IL‐6 in remitted and untreated MDD patients compared to ...
