Properties of snail shell-immobilized lipase of Aspergillus pseudotamarii and its application in butyl butyrate synthesis

open access: yesJournal of BioScience and Biotechnology
In this study, attempts were made to evaluate shells of egg and snail, crystal beads, and kaolin clay as suitable carriers for the immobilization of purified lipase produced by Aspergillus pseudotamarii.

The –514 polymorphism in the hepatic lipase gene (LIPC) does not influence androgen-mediated stimulation of hepatic lipase activity

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
The –514T allele of hepatic lipase is associated with increased high density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels in men, but not in women. This observation suggests that the –514C to T polymorphism may diminish the response of hepatic lipase to androgens.

The crosstalk between immune activation and metabolism in heart failure. A scientific statement of the Heart Failure Association of the ESC

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract A better understanding of additional mechanisms of heart failure (HF) progression may allow a different and more complete phenotyping of the disease and identification of novel therapeutic targets. Persistent latent myocardial inflammation/immune activation in HF may represent an attempt to restore tissue homeostasis in the failing heart ...

Lipoprotein lipase and acid lipase activity in rabbit brain microvessels.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1979
A preparation of cerebral microvessels was used to demonstrate the presence of lipoprotein lipase and acid lipase activity in the microvasculature of rabbit brain. Microvessels, consisting predominantly of capillaries, small arterioles, and venules, were

Exploring the Potential of Liposomal Delivery of Naringenin and Berberine for Browning Adipose Tissue and Obesity Management

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Biocompatible and biodegradable liposomes were developed to encapsulate naringenin (N) and berberine (B), enhancing their stability and bioavailability. Their effects on thermogenesis and browning in 3T3‐L1 preadipocyte cells compared to their free forms were investigated.

Streamlining Vorinostat Synthesis: A Chemoenzymatic Continuous Flow Approach

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A chemoenzymatic protocol for the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitor vorinostat has been established. Immobilized lipase from C. antarctica (imm‐CaLB) allowed the functionalization of suberanoyl acid 1 and further conversion to vorinostat via ion‐exchange resin treatment.
