From Cell‐Derived Vesicles to Hybrid Nanovectors: Biological Membranes as Functional Blueprints for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biologically derived and hybrid nonviral nanovectors are examined as distinct but convergent design approaches. Integrating synthetic components with biologically functionalized membranes allows efficient interactions with complex cellular environments.

Harnessing lipid-driven immunometabolic pathways in omental metastases to enhance immunotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy
Immunotherapy with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) in epithelial ovarian carcinoma (EOC) shows limited clinical benefit only for a small subset of patients.

An analysis of the role of a retroendocytosis pathway in ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux from macrophagess⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
The ATP binding cassette transporter A-1 (ABCA1) is critical for apolipoprotein-mediated cholesterol efflux, an important mechanism employed by macrophages to avoid becoming lipid-laden foam cells, the hallmark of early atherosclerotic lesions.

Silicone Breast Implants as a Model System for Understanding Polymer Permeation in Soft Materials In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone breast implants are presented as a model system for understanding polymer permeation in vivo. Rather than representing material failure, “gel bleed” emerges from solution–diffusion transport‐mediated. By integrating polymer architecture, physicochemical transport, and biointerfacial processes, this review provides a unified framework that ...

Targeting CD300a Signaling With a Phosphatidylserine‐Presenting Hydrogel Rescues Macrophage Dysfunction and Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.

Lipid-laden macro phages in bone marrow of leprosy patients

open access: yesLeprosy Review, 1991
While conducting a study to observe bone marrow cytomorphological changes in multibacillary leprosy, lipid laden macrophages as seen in sphingolipidoses were noted. The present study was planned to observe the occurrence and morphological characterization of these macrophages in various types of leprosy.

PLL‐g‐HPA Hydrogel Microneedles Loaded With Rhoifolin Target Macrophages to Alleviate Fibroblast Senescence for Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Diabetic wound healing is hindered by a pathological crosstalk wherein elevated IL‐11 induces M1 macrophage polarization, leading to IL‐1β/IL‐6 release and subsequent fibroblast senescence via RAS/p38MAPK/p53/E2F1 signaling. Here, we develop a Gel@M‐Rho microneedle patch that delivers rhoifolin‐loaded, macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles to target

Water‐Activated Phospholipid Phase‐Separation Gel as an Immunomodulatory Anti‐Adhesion Barrier for Postoperative Adhesion Prevention

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A water‐activated phospholipid phase‐separation gel is repurposed as a drug‐free surgical barrier for postoperative adhesion prevention. Propylene glycol promotes rapid lamellar gel reinforcement, prolonged local retention, and tissue coverage, while phosphatidylcholine‐mediated immunomodulation suppresses inflammatory and fibrotic responses. This dual‐

Computed Tomography‐ and Photoacoustic Imaging‐Active Bioresorbable Electrospun Bismuth Nanoparticle‐Infused Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A polymeric graft loaded with radiopaque bismuth nanoparticles is expected to undergo gradual polymer resorption and nanoparticle release. This design enables noninvasive, multimodal monitoring of device integrity, patency, and degradation using computed tomography alongside ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging over 12 weeks.

Anisotropic Masked Mycobacterium Potentiates Amplified Antitumor Trained Immunity via Spleen Targeting and Myelopoiesis Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An engineered Trojan Mycobacterium, developed via a “peeling‐off and masking‐up” strategy, functions as a powerful splenic myelopoiesis converter. This spleen‐targeted nanomedicine induces trained immunity to reprogram immunosuppressive myeloid reservoirs into antitumoral effectors.
