Self-constructed Oleanolic acid Pickering emulsions: Oil-regulated bioavailability with intrinsic lipid inhibition

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
Self-constructed emulsion interface delivery systems (EIDS) based on hydrophobic bioactives represent a novel delivery strategy. Water-in-oil emulsions structured with oleanolic acid (OA) as the Pickering particle significantly enhance OA bioavailability.

Conjugated Porphyrin Polymer With Superior Charge Transfer for Photodynamic‐Immunomodulatory Prevention of CIED Infection in Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

Xanthine oxidase promotes hepatic lipid accumulation through high fat absorption by the small intestine

open access: yesJHEP Reports
Background & Aims: There are no studies investigating the direct effects of elevated xanthine oxidase (XO) on lipid metabolism disorders. Here, we aimed to clarify the role of XO in lipid metabolism in a prospective cohort study and elucidate the ...

A Naphthalimide‐Based NIR‐Emissive AIE Photosensitizer for Synergistic Apoptosis/Ferroptosis‐Mediated Antitumor Therapy and Broad‐Spectrum Bacterial Inactivation With Rapid Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ionic naphthalimide AIE photosensitizer (PS), TPAPV‐NIM‐M, anchors to cellular and bacterial membranes, emits in the far‐red/near‐infrared (NIR) region, and efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) under white light. Its membrane‐localized photodynamic action drives apoptosis/ferroptosis‐mediated tumor suppression and broad‐spectrum ...

Intestinal SURF4 is essential for apolipoprotein transport and lipoprotein secretion

open access: yesMolecular Metabolism
Objective: Lipoprotein assembly and secretion in the small intestine are critical for dietary fat absorption. Surfeit locus protein 4 (SURF4) serves as a cargo receptor, facilitating the cellular transport of multiple proteins and mediating hepatic lipid
