Ion mobility mass spectrometry for lipopeptides analysis
Cyclic lipopeptides (CLPs) are produced by bacteria in a ribosome independent manner and consists in a hydrophilic peptide linked to a B-hydroxy fatty acid chain.

Strong inhibitory activities and action modes of lipopeptides on lipase
Lipopeptides have been reported to exhibit anti-obesity effects. In this study, we obtained a Bacillus velezensis strain FJAT-52631 that could coproduce iturins, fengycins, and surfactins.

Biomimetic membranes (liposomes) were prepared from yeast phospholipids with variable concentrations of ergosterol and exposed to antimicrobial compounds. Dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering measured changes in size and ζ‐potential to study their interaction with the antimicrobial compounds.

Lipopeptides activate Gi-proteins in dibutyryl cyclic AMP-differentiated HL-60 cells [PDF]
Synthetic lipopeptides activate superoxide-anion (O2-) formation in human neutrophils in a pertussis-toxin (PTX)-sensitive manner, suggesting the involvement of G-proteins of the Gi family in the signal-transduction pathway.

Treatment of staphylococcal infections with cyclic lipopeptides [PDF]
Daptomycin is the first of a new class of antibiotics, the cyclic lipopeptides, for which a novel mechanism of action is hypothesised. Owing to its mode of action, daptomycin is rapidly bactericidal without being bacteriolytic, is active against static- and growing-phase bacteria, and has a low resistance rate in vitro.

Lipopeptides as lmmunoadiuvants and lmmunostimulants in Mucosal Immunization
In previous studies we have shown that lipopeptides constitute potent immunoadjuvants in mice, rabbits and other species: in parenteral immunization, lipopeptide adjuvants were comparable, or in some cases superior to Freund's adjuvant, and were devoid of the side effects of this additive. Here we demonstrate that lipopeptides also constitute adjuvants

Lipopeptides production by Bacillus subtilis in rotating discs bioreactor
La souche de Bacillus subtilis ATCC 21332 produit deux familles de lipopeptides (les surfactines et les fengycines/plipastatines) qui présentent des propriétés biologiques d’intérêt. La productivité des procédés fermentaires en mode continu ou discontinu
