Microbial lipopeptides: Properties, mechanics and engineering for novel lipopeptides

Microbiological Research, 2023
Microorganisms produce active surface agents called lipopeptides (LPs) which are amphiphilic in nature. They are cyclic or linear compounds and are predominantly isolated from Bacillus and Pseudomonas species. LPs show antimicrobial activity towards various plant pathogens and act by inhibiting the growth of these organisms.

Synthesis of Lipopeptides by CLipPA Chemistry

open access: yes, 2021
Lipidation of polypeptides with a fatty acid to form N-linked lipopeptides can be a time consuming process due to the need to mask other reactive function groups present on the side chains of amino acids. Cysteine Lipidation on a Peptide or Amino acid (CLipPA) technology enables the direct lipidation of unprotected peptides containing a free thiol ...

Removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution by lipopeptides and lipopeptides modified Na-montmorillonite

Bioresource Technology, 2013
The removal of Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Pb(2+) and Hg(2+) from aqueous solution by lipopeptides produced from solid-state fermentation (LPSSF) and LPSSF modified Na-montmorillonite clays (LPSSF/Na-MMT) was investigated. The results showed that the LPSSF had certain adsorption capability for the metal ions and the modification of Na-MMT with LPSSF at a ...

Liposomes for the Delivery of Lipopeptide Vaccines

2021
Liposomes, which are artificial phospholipid vesicles with a bilayer membrane structure, have been developed and evaluated as a promising delivery system for vaccines. Here, we describe a procedure for the encapsulation of lipopeptide vaccines into liposomes. A liposomal formulation of lipid-core peptide was prepared via thin-film hydration followed by

Production, characterization, and potential applications of lipopeptides in food systems: A comprehensive review

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety
Lipopeptides are a class of lipid-peptide-conjugated compounds with differing structural features. This structural diversity is responsible for their diverse range of biological properties, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory ...
