Two cases of colorectal liver metastasis with residual liver recurrence after a long recurrence-free survival period

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2023
Background The rate of residual liver recurrence after the resection of colorectal liver metastases is high, and most cases recur within 5 years of the initial hepatectomy. Here, we report two cases of residual liver recurrence after radical resection of

Imaging Related To Transplantation For Colorectal Liver Metastases

open access: yes, 2019
In this thesis patients who underwent liver transplantation (LT) for unresectable colorectal liver metastases were studied (SECA study). Lifelong immunosuppression following LT is necessary to prevent organ rejection and the general perception is that ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Surgical treatment of colorectal cancer metastases [PDF]

open access: yesScripta Medica, 2020
Background/Aim: Colorectal metastatic liver tumours are the most common secondary liver tumours. During the life of patients with colorectal tumorous, this liver metastases will develop either synchronously or metachronously in half of the patients ...

Predictive factors for time to recurrence, treatment and post-recurrence survival in patients with initially resected colorectal liver metastases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Despite progress in resection for colorectal liver metastases (CLM), the majority of patients experience recurrence. We aimed to evaluate factors influencing time to recurrence (TTR), treatment and post-recurrence survival (PRS) related to ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Treatment strategies for neuroendocrine liver metastases: a systematic review.

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors are often diagnosed when metastatic. The liver is the main site of metastases. Unfortunately, optimal management of neuroendocrine liver metastases remains a topic of debate.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

The comparative analysis of immunohistochemical parameters of primary liver cancer and liver metastases of malignant tumors of solid, trabecular, tubular-glandular structure in puncture trephine biopsy

open access: yesPatologìâ, 2015
Aim. In puncture trephine biopsy of the liver differential immunohistochemical (IHC) parameters of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in 30 patients, cholangiocellular cancer (CC) of the liver in 15 patients, and liver metastases of malignant tumors of solid,
