International convergence and local divergence [PDF]

open access: yes
This work presents a north-south endogenous-growth model that reproduces some recent EU stylized facts: convergence between countries, divergence between the same countries, more spatial concentration of economic activity and higher growth rates.

Local convergence of a two-step Gauss-Newton Werner-type method for solving least squares problems

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory
The aim of this paper is to extend the applicability of a two-step Gauss-Newton-Werner-type method (TGNWTM) for solving nonlinear least squares problems.

Least Change Secant Update Methods for Nonlinear Complementarity Problem

open access: yesIngeniería y Ciencia, 2015
In this work, we introduce a family of Least Change Secant Update Methods for solving Nonlinear Complementarity Problems based on its reformulation as a nonsmooth system using the one-parametric class of nonlinear complementarity functions introduced by ...

On Convergence of the Inexact Rayleigh Quotient Iteration with the Lanczos Method Used for Solving Linear Systems

open access: yes, 2015
For the Hermitian inexact Rayleigh quotient iteration (RQI), the author has established new local general convergence results, independent of iterative solvers for inner linear systems.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Discrete approximations to local times for reflected diffusions

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a discrete analogue for the boundary local time of reflected diffusions in bounded Lipschitz domains. This discrete analogue, called the discrete local time, can be effectively simulated in practice and is obtained pathwise from random walks ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Study of a High Order Family: Local Convergence and Dynamics

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
The study of the dynamics and the analysis of local convergence of an iterative method, when approximating a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation, is presented in this article. We obtain convergence using a center-Lipschitz condition where the

Local convergence of the Gauss-Newton-Kurchatov method under generalized Lipschitz conditions

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2021
We investigate the local convergence of the Gauss-Newton-Kurchatov method for solving nonlinear least squares problems. This method is a combination of Gauss-Newton and Kurchatov methods and it is used for problems with the decomposition of the operator.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.
