The pharmacokinetics and locomotor activity of alfentanil in the horse

Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1991
The pharmacokinetics of alfentanil were investigated in the horse. Four doses of alfentanil (4, 10, 20 and 40 μg/kg) were given to four horses at different times and their locomotor activity monitored. Doses of 20 and 40 μg/kg produced a significant increase in locomotor activity.

Chemical activation of the mesecephalic locomotor region

Brain Research, 1985
Electrical stimulation of the mesencephalic locomotor region (MLR) in the precollicular-postmammillary transected cat is known to induce controlled locomotion on a treadmill. We have been able to induce and block locomotion in this preparation by using localized infusions of transmitters and their agonists and antagonists.

Locomotor Activity in Rodents

2007
Many of the behavioral parameters exhibited by an organism show daily fluctuations. These may persist under constant environmental conditions, demonstrating that they are governed by an endogenous (circadian) clock. The monitoring of locomotor activity in rodents is probably one of the most common methods to track this endogenous timing system.

Hyperoxia and Locomotor Activity in Rats

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1968
Exposure to an 8% O 2 atmosphere (hypoxia) reduced activity-wheel running of rats approximately 50% with respect to a 21% O 2 (normoxia) control condition.

Effects of deuteration of locomotor activity of amphetamine

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1978
The synthesis of fully deuterated amphetamine (phenyl-2-aminopropane-d11) in which 11 deuterium atoms are bonded to carbons and two other highly deuterated analogues is described. Their toxicities and in vivo spontaneous locomotor activities in mice were examined and compared with that of the parent protioamphetamine.

Effect of Strychnine Sulfate on Locomotor Activity

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1965
The effect of strychnine sulfate upon spontaneous locomotor activity in an open field was determined for 20 naive male Wistar rats. The experimental Ss were injected ip with 1.0 cc/kg of a 01% solution of strychnine sulfate in normal saline and the control Ss received a similar injection of 1.0 cc/kg of normal saline.

Locomotor Activity Monitoring System in Rodents

2020 4th International Conference on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, 2020
This paper presents the design and implementation of a locomotor activity monitoring system in rodents. The system was developed on an electronic platform based on open code hardware and software (Arduino Nano), which includes additional electronic circuits such as real time clock (RTC) to record date and time and a flash memory (microSD) for storage ...

Role of mesencephalic glycine in locomotor activity

Neuroscience Letters, 1985
Microinjection of glycine (20 micrograms) into the ventral mesencephalon of rats caused a stimulation of locomotor activity. Microinjection of haloperidol (5 micrograms) into the nucleus accumbens immediately before the glycine injection did not reduce this locomotor stimulation. In rats with 6-hydroxydopamine-induced destruction of mesolimbic dopamine

Effects of fluoroquinolones on the locomotor activity in rats

Archives of Toxicology, 2001
During therapy with fluoroquinolones adverse CNS reactions such as dizziness, light-headedness, insomnia or sleepiness are observed in up to 20% of patients. Using a device developed at our institute for the simultaneous registration of the activity of rats housed in single cages, we have investigated the effects of trovafloxacin, fleroxacin or ...

Effect of calcium on locomotor activity of mice

Psychopharmacology, 1980
Intracerebroventricular administration of calcium severely depressed the locomotor activity of unanesthetized mice, producing ataxic gait and motor incoordination. Pretreatment with pentobarbital (30 mg/kg, IP) twice daily for 2 and 6 days partially reversed this effect of calcium, suggesting that calcium and pentobarbital may in part exert their ...
